Emperor at 14 years old

Rome, 218 CE.Ere Commune The citizens and the senate are in shock over the assassination of Emperor Caracalla on the fringes of the empire. Taking advantage of his resemblance to Caracalla, a 14-year-old Syrian is acclaimed as emperor by the Roman legions.

The Crowned Anarchist

In his native Syria, he is called Elagabal or Heliogabalus. We will see later where this name comes from.  On becoming emperor of Rome, he took the name Marcus Aurelius Antoninus.

Legend says that Elagabalus was born in “a cradle of sperm.” This was in 204 CE, common at Antioch, Syria. And his whole existence will be a long sacrifice of sex and blood. Héliogabale was a crazy and excessive king, bathed in stupor, debauchery, and excess.” Héliogabale, as king, is in the best possible place to reduce human multiplicity and bring it back through blood, cruelty, war, up to a feeling of unity. The Shadow Princesses

If this young man has become the master of the Roman Empire, it is thanks to women. His mother and grandmother, the Syrian princesses, used his resemblance to the recently assassinated Emperor Caracalla to have their puppet named Emperor of Rome.

Propelled at the head of an empire that covers almost the whole known world, the young emperor does not care to reign. He leaves state affairs to the Syrian princesses. For four years, from 218 to 222 CE, they ruled unchallenged over the enormous empire.

An Oversized Ego

Without barrier or limit, possessed by an oversized ego, the young emperor gives free rein to his perverse character. Thus he invites the whole of Rome to sumptuous banquets, from which each guest may emerge dead or covered with gold.

The Romans have already experienced so many atrocities that more is needed to shock them. The abundance that then reigned in Rome allowed him to cultivate a refined luxury, generosity and pomp that fascinated his guests. Sometimes the latter leave rich, taking away diamonds and pearls that the emperor has put in salads, sometimes they die like beasts, victims of a floor that is hidden during a feast.

Sacrilege

Convinced that he is the reincarnation of a former god, he wants descendants worthy of his divine status, so he has the great vestal removed to make her his legitimate wife. This lady is invested with a religious function which made her take a sacred vow, that of remaining virgin. The aims of the young Heliogabalus are completely unacceptable.

What his misconduct had not brought, his sacrilege will do: after only four years of reign, the senate makes him assassinated. Despite his young age, his reign was very brief. Historians present him to us as a weak and capricious being, intoxicated by his omnipotence. To the story of his exploits, one would be tempted to think like them. And yet the truth is elsewhere… As usual!

Solar Cult

By his father, Héliogabale was the heir of a very old solar cult, practiced in the temple that dominated the city of Emèse. This cult was none other than a variant of the mystery of Isis, an electro-magnetic initiation by the fire of heaven, that is to say lightning. Consecrated at the age of 13, the young man would become the pope.

The fulgural awakening was part of a solar cult: thus Jupiter-Zeus, the solar god par excellence, had lightning as his favorite weapon. The main mythologies illustrate the kinship of the ray of sunshine and the lightning. They recognize a close relationship between the solar orb and the ball lightning, an instrument of dazzling awakening.

Two Suns

This incongruous amalgam is explained by the double meaning of Sun in antiquity. If this word designates the star of the day, when the ancients wrote it with a capital letter, it designated the divine planet, the spaceship Hyperborea hovering above the north pole, whose dazzling light illuminated night and day the northern hemisphere. So the expression Son of the Sun refers to the former gods, those who came from the Big Dipper on board this mothership that resembled a star.

Like many others, the city of Emese, Syria, had its particular solar cult dedicated to the local god of lightning, named Elagabal. This word can be broken down into El, god + aga, great chief + bal, Baal or Bel, Belenus of the Gauls. This god was the great head of the former gods. So he means Bel, god of gods.

Overlooking the city, a sacred temple housed an aerolite or lightning stone, as it was then called. This stone was a bétyle or betyle, like the omphalos of Delphi that the Sibyl used to predict the future. Stone fallen from the sky, the bethyl is a meteorite of a particular nature, a matte black with deep reflections, reminiscent of obsidian, sacred stone of the Aztecs, Incas and Celts.

Beth-el, Bethyle

In Hebrew, beth-el means the House of God. In the Tarot of Marseille, the arcana XVI “La Maison-Dieu” represents awakening: the house where one becomes God, like Teotihuacan in the Maya language.

Lightning can transform into gods. But lightning can kill. The Ancients sought instead the beneficial and less intense energy of the lightning balls. Thanks to its special ductility, the bethyl shatters the lightning, crumbles it and transforms it into balls of lightning, the cherished saints, and the waking girls.

Also the bethyls make valuable lightning bursts; while the sensors or lightning conductors are made of a conducting metal.
